BIO
Tamara wailed as a child. Luckily this soon turned into singing, although at times she can still be heard wailing in her songs (or when she laughs). Tamara writes songs that make you feel something.
Tamara also fronts baroque-pop group Death of the Maiden and is the Creative Director of All Tamara’s Parties.
“Intense, dark and quirky” - The Oxford Mail
“Armed with a voice that would make angels and demons weep” - Nightshift Magazine
Smiles all around.
We could not have wished for better weather to launch Towpath Productions on the Oxford canal. We were treated to glorious sunshine and a gentle cool breeze that accompanied us on our journey from Balls Bridge to Isis lock and back.
Setting off with Captain Stuart guiding Progress gently along we were treated to a rare and unique performance from Oxford’s Tamara Parsons-Baker, a well-known performer on the Oxford music scene both solo and performing with the band Death of a Maiden. Tamara is also the mastermind behind a series of past musical events and festivals ingeniously entitled All Tamara’s Parties.
Tamara’s songs induced beaming smiles and the occasional whoops and hollers from revellers along the towpath, many of whom gladly meandered along with us to soak up and appreciate the music.
